BLOOM FESTIVAL: A CHILEAN VISION BLOOMING IN AUSTRALIA

Bloom Festival began four years ago when Chilean artist Ignacio Tello arrived in what he describes as paradise: Airlie Beach, Australia. While exploring hidden corners of the beach, he discovered Bali Hut, the venue that would later become the home of Bloom. It was there that the idea took shape — to create an electronic music festival that would bring multiple styles together in one immersive experience, ranging from house and tech house to peak-time techno, with hard techno closing out its signature after-parties. Its presence has reshaped the local scene, attracting new audiences, encouraging emerging DJs and redefining what an independent festival can achieve outside major Australian cities.

The festival reached its highest attendance on November 29, welcoming 1,178 people, firmly positioning Bloom as one of the most important electronic music events in the area.

Musically, Ignacio Tello’s current sound sits between Indie Dance and Peak-Time Techno, with a preference for heavier, driving grooves rather than hard techno. Influenced by artists such as Kaufmann, Pavel Petrov and Adam Beyer, Ignacio recently traveled from Chile to Australia to perform at the latest Bloom edition, delivering a set that blended Indie Dance and Peak Time, receiving an outstanding response from the crowd.
Ignacio’s journey into electronic music began in 2019, shortly after arriving in Australia, where he was introduced to the underground Bush Party scene. A performance by a French DJ sparked his interest, and in 2022 he purchased his first controller, the DDJ-400, beginning his path as a DJ mixing Afro House.
Looking ahead, Bloom Festival is set to continue its exponential growth. Major developments are planned for 2026, with new concepts and experiences on the horizon. As a DJ, Ignacio’s goal is to tour internationally and perform at some of Chile’s most respected electronic music events, including Tech or Die and Chaiseroom in the Fifth Region.

Bloom Festival is, at its core, a project built with heart. It has grown slowly, edition by edition, thanks to the people who believed in it, the artists who trusted its vision and the community that now calls it home. What began as a small idea on a quiet beach has become a shared space for connection, music and creativity. As Bloom looks toward its next steps, its purpose remains simple: to keep growing with intention, to stay true to its roots and to continue offering experiences that bring people together.
